Memorial Fund Established in Honor of Charlie Terreni

Congaree Rapid FC has established the Charlie Terreni Memorial Fund in memory of Charlie Terreni who played much of his youth career with Congaree Rapid.

Born in Columbia, he was a son of Charles Leverett Adams Terreni and Patricia Yeatman Terreni. Charlie played soccer since he was able to walk. He loved the game, but enjoyed his teammates and coaches even more. His greatest joy was playing varsity soccer for Cardinal Newman beginning in 8th grade until he graduated in 2014. Cardinal Newman won three state championships during his time on the team. The 2014 championship season was the best because he was joined on the varsity team by his younger brother, Shand. Friends were important to Charlie, and he made them easily with a quick smile and sense of humor. He enjoyed travelling, especially visits with his relatives in Italy, whom he adored. Charlie was a freshman at the University of South Carolina where he had pledged Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

In April 2015, the CRFC Board voted unanimously to donate $1 of all membership fees for the future continuation of the Memorials received in Charlie's honor. A scholarship will be established in the future to honor student-athletes from Cardinal Newman School and Congaree Rapid FC.
